Dr. Alan Abrams earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and his medical degree from the University of Ohio, Medical School in Columbus. He continued his training with an Internship in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Ohio, and a Residency in Ophthalmology at LI Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Abrams then went on to complete a prestigious Fellowship in Cornea, Refractive and Anterior Segment Surgery at the College of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio.

A board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Abrams has been in private practice in Ohio since 1991. In addition, he serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Ohio. Dr. Abrams is affiliated with Columbus Health Resources, Wink Regional Hospital System, Park Medical Center and Midway Laser Vision Center.

Renowned in the field of Ophthalmology, Dr. Abrams has been selected as one of the Best Doctors in Dallas in D Magazine for multiple years. He is very active in professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery and Texas Ophthalmology Association, among others.
